A supporters meeting arranged by Trust Everton took place as planned from 1pm to 3pm on Saturday 15 November 2014 at The Casa, Hope Street, Liverpool L1 9BQ.
Trust Everton Meeting Update
The meeting was chaired by John Blain, chair of the Everton FC Shareholders Association, and saw short presentations from Tony I’Anson from Trust Everton, Kevin Rye from Supporters Direct, Sean Bones from Manchester United Supporters’ Trust, and Keith Culvin from Spirit of Shankly.
After a question and answer session, a show of hands revealed all of the Everton fans in the room were in agreement that a steering group should be formed with a view to setting up a Supporters Direct affiliated supporters’ trust. Those wishing to be part of a steering group were invited to provide contact details.
The steering group plans to meet before the next Everton FC home game. Anyone interested in further information about this should contact Kevin Rye at Supporters Direct.
Tony I’Anson confirmed during his talk that Community Football Assets Ltd, the vehicle currently operating under the name ‘Trust Everton’ will continue as a single issue organisation focusing on supporter ownership of club real-estate assets.
However, to avoid confusion, it will be dropping its use of the word ‘trust’, which in a football context has become inherently linked with Supporters Direct affiliated organisations.
A further announcement on the name change will be made during the coming week. The firstname.lastname@example.org remains the main contact e-mail address until further notice.
