Spanish club Sevilla line up Everton target Dusan Tadic as replacement for Barcelona bound Ivan Rakitic
Sevilla will look towards FC Twente and Serbian international Dusan Tadic to replace Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakatic who is expected to join Barcelona in a 20 million euro deal.
According to the Twente Tubantia, the Spanish UEFA League winners will firm up their interest in Tadic with an official bid for a player who was linked to a January move to Everton by the same newspaper.
The 25-year old creative midfielder was as recently as yesterday linked to a summer move to Goodison Park in the English press, however it now seems Roberto Martinez may have to move quickly for Tadic in order to fend off serious interest from the Sevillistas.
FC Twente’s financial difficulties have recently come under close scrutiny from the Dutch FA, leaving the Tukkers no option but to off-load Tadic who is currently in Brazil preparing for the World Cup.
Speaking in early May, the former FC Groningen player, who made a positive impression against Brazil in the host nation’s final World Cup warm-up game, said of his future:
“I would love to play in one of the three best competitions in Europe,” said the Serbian.
“[They are] England, Spain or Germany.”
“At this moment Italy just falls short for me.”
Attacking midfielder Tadic, who with 16 goals and 14 assists in 33 games had an outstanding second season at FC Twente, believes the time is now right to take the step up to one of Europe’s elite leagues.
“There is nothing concrete at this moment so it is difficult to speak about a transfer but I am going to take my time and see what is best for myself,” said Tadic.
It is believed FC Twente will be open to offers for Tadic and will allow the proven international, who can play on either flank or behind a striker, to leave the club for around the £8m mark.
