Everton injury boost as Seamus Coleman ready to face Tottenham and Gerard Deulefeu closes in on full fitness.
Blues boss Roberto Martinez will welcome Seamus Coleman back into the team for Sunday’s crucial clash at White Hart Lane. The Everton manager also revealed Gerard Deulefeu is nearing full fitness.
Martinez, speaking at a press conference this morning said:
“They are very important players and we have had good news on them. I would say Seamus Coleman is probably in the right category to play.”
“Gerard Deulefeu is back from Spain, is training and is really excited and enthusiastic about getting back.
“Obviously we will have to assess him to see how quickly we can get him match fit. From a medical point of view, he is fit and that’s really positive and we have to make sure we give him the right doses of work.”
The news of the return of both Coleman and Deulefeu will be a boost to Everton as they travel to North London attempting to put daylight between themselves and Tim Sherwood’s Spurs’ side. As well as keeping the pressure on Liverpool, as the Merseysiders battle for that crucial 4th place Champions League birth.
